For athletes who prefer a slightly thinner lifting belt for a freer range of movement, the 3” Ohio Belt is a simple solution—made from the same 10mm thick vegetable tanned leather as our standard 4” version.

The reduction in belt width still offers firm, reliable support, with a wide range of additional potential benefits, including:

• Preventing the belt from digging into the ribs and/or hips of women or smaller athletes.
• Enabling more comfortable bench press movements without hindering the arch.
• Reducing friction or “pinching” during deadlifts, Olympic lifts, etc.

More on the Vegetable Tanning Process

Derived from the all-natural cowboy method of tanning hides, the vegetable tanning process can take weeks to complete, versus the mere hours of modern sole tanning. The reward for this painstaking effort, however, is a firm, ultra-durable, water-resistant leather weight belt with a rich, natural brown tone. The vegetable tanning process means you’ll receive a belt with a softer feel that is just as strong as the rest, with a break-in time that is nearly nonexistent.

All of our Ohio Belts are manufactured with pride in Ohio. The 3” model includes a sturdy double-prong buckle with a seamless roller in a bright zinc finish.
